The Distance Between
The Distance Between describes a state of separation that I want to explore. There are many different ways in which I am thinking about this separation and the ways in which it operates in my work. In some cases I seek to explore a physical separation from place, and the nostalgia that it creates. In some cases the separation is from a person and the work explores ways that the expanse of space between two people is felt, challenged, or journeyed through. In all cases the work holds a strong sense of sentimentality and seeks to express the yearning created by distance.
